1978. Graduated from the faculty of Stomatology of Kaunas Medical Institute (KMI).
1988. Defended the doctoral thesis on dental implants in Moscow Central Scientific Research Institute of Dental Medicine.
Since 1981. Began to apply the dental implant method in Lithuania. One of the pioneers of this method not only in Lithuania, but also in the then Soviet Union.
1986-1989. Teaching the course of dental implantation at rate KMI.
1998. Award of St. Apollonia statuette sward for significant contribution in dentistry.
Since 2013 KOHLER Medizintechnik (Germany) produces several types of instruments based on the inventions of A. Černikis.
Thommen (Switzerland) medical advisor from 2015.
Over 20 scientific articles on dental implant and prosthesis issues. Over 30 presentations at national and international conferences. Author and co-author of four methodological recommendations and twelve inventions and patents.
From 2008. Černikis Dental School. Facilitator of qualification training courses for dentists in five topics (implant dentistry, surgery, anaesthesia and prosthetics).
